brings you

Below is everything you need to know about buying a clip from me, so please take the time to read it!

Please Call me (Dave) at (610) 597-1078 if you have any questions!

As of August 1st, 2007, I will no longer be renting out "the warehouse".  Instead, I will be having the containers delivered to the same address, but storing them in my 40' foot overseas containers, eliminating almost all of my overhead so that I may BRING THE CLIP TO YOU FOR INSTALLATION! That's right, I don't care where you live, anywhere in the US besides Alaska and Hawaii and I am there... maybe even some parts of Canada, depending.  I will put 3 clips in my trailer at a time, traveling the United States swapping turbo engines into MR2's at my customers' locations!  Call me for more details!

All of my clips are imported from Japan and are compression tested before my supplier purchases them.  Most clips were auction cars which can actually be driven before purchased in Japan, and are the best ones to get.  The rest are ones that were in accidents, but mostly or all body damage only.  Sometimes the cross members/control arms get damaged, but I have extras to replace them.  The only thing I do not cover damage against are the hubs because I do not have extras and they can be expensive ($125+ per side).  It is rare that I get ones with damaged hubs.  The only things that are actually warranted are of course the motors, transmissions and turbo's.  Anything else will be replaced/supplied if I have extras and are able to give them away.  Anyway, here is what the average clip w/ installation and parts will run:

Clip$2,700 / $3,750 for a gen2 / gen3 (base price)
Installation: $1,500 (includes Fuel Pump Install Labor)
Spec Clutch$350 for a stage 2 or $380 for a stage 3 (spec) + $50 to get your stock flywheel resurfaced.
Tune Up Parts & Fluids$250 (cap, rotor, wires & plugs ; oil/filter, gear oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc)
Mechanical Speedo Sensor: $150 (only needed if you are pre-93) - needed for speedo/odometer to function.
Fuel Pump w/ Install$100

Total$4,950-$5,130 for a gen2, $5,950-$6,130 for a gen3, depending on the speedo sensor and the clutch.

Delivery Fee: $250-500 East Coast, $750-1,000 West Coast

Whether or not you want to do the timing belt/water pump is up to you.  Labor runs $100 and about $200 in parts.

Payment:  When joining a group buy, only the cost of the clip is due in advance.  At the time that you pay, you will be placed on the list (first come, first pick).  You have the option of sending half of the install rate w/ the clip payment, which will put you on the Install List (first come, first served - in coordination with your location).  The Parts/Fluids costs will be due when the clips ship from Japan, and the last half of the install is due when you pick up the car.  I ask that no one pays more/less than asked, as it keeps it easier to keep track of with everyone on the same page.  Form of payment must be a Money Order or Cashiers Check because of the large amount / waiting period.  A signed/dated receipt can be faxed/mailed as soon as payment is received.  Please include that info with your payment.

Time Period:  The longest part is waiting for the clips to get here, and I have done something about that!  By offering house calls all across the United States, sign ups will occur faster, allowing for me to ship the container sooner.  I now guarantee only a 4-6 months wait time at most, and will sell clips without installs if necessary to keep on schedule  As for the actual install, unless you are local and want to bring your car to my personal garage, I am now offering house calls where I bring the clip and tools to your personal garage/driveway/friend's house to do the swap.  However, I cannot install everyone's swaps as fast this way, so the 18 swaps will be spread out of a 3 month period instead of 2 months.

I will add to this page as more Frequently Asked Questions arise.  This page is designed to allow me to handle the large amount of phone calls that I am receiving about mr2 rear clips, so that I can answer more of your calls!

See below for pictures of the installation process!  I try to remember to take pictures of things along the way so you can see what was being done to your mr2!  If pictures are a must, please let me know as sometimes I forget to take them/they slow me down a bit.

Thank you!
